Dressed in pioneer clothing, Samoan members walk in parade on Savaii.

For the celebration, they held a pioneer trek re-enactment, traveling on the trail to the next village, Tapuele'ele, circling the village center, then returning home.

Relief Society sisters, dressed in pioneer-type clothing, told pioneer stories.

Six covered wagons, "all created to depict and honor the great pioneer trek," were made by ward members for the celebration, said Richard Dotson, a senior missionary serving in the Samoa Apia Mission.

"These people love the Church and all that it stands for," Elder Dotson said. "They are committed to serving the Lord and each other."
