DUBLIN, Ireland — Dottie Zimmerman, 24, of the Ash Flat Branch, Arkansas North Little Rock Stake, received three bronze medals in powerlifting at the 11th Special Olympic World Summer Games in Dublin, Ireland, June 16-29.

Dottie had been training the past year in the bench press, deadlift and combination-bench and deadlift. She said this was an experience she will never forget.

Her team spent four days in Belfast before traveling to Dublin for the opening of the games. Dottie competed earlier this year in the Arkansas Special Olympics in Searcy, Ark., at which she received three gold medals.

"There were a lot more people at the World Games," she said. "It was more interesting to meet people from all over the world. The people there were very friendly."
