PALMERSTON NORTH, New Zealand — Both the boys and girls basketball teams at the Church College of New Zealand won national secondary school basketball championships at a tournament here the last week in August.

This is the 17th such title for the girls and the 15th for the boy since 1968.

Named tournament MVPs were the girls' Mikaelar Whippy, co-captain, and the boys' co-captain, Jordan Kershaw.

"There is a heap of pressure from other teams looking to beat us, and from within, because there is so much history behind behind our basketball," said Jordan.
