Dazzling fall foliage is seen from the Temple Quarry Nature Trail in Little Cottonwood Canyon, the area where rock was extracted for constructing the walls of the Salt Lake Temple.
Construction on the temple commenced 150 years ago, though the quarrying did not start until alter, thus, with the fall leaves in their full splendor, now is a timely occasion to visit the quarry trail, administered by the U.S. Forest Service.
