The First Presidency has called four new visitors center directors. They will begin serving in January 2004.

Patsy and Bruce Christensen

Bruce Robin Christensen, 65, Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center; Brigham City 6th Ward, Brigham City Utah South Stake; former president of the Philippines Baguio Mission, stake president, temple ordinance worker and high priests group leader. Studied banking at Pacific Coast Banking School; retired. Born in Brigham City, Utah, to James Desmond and Eunice Robinette Christensen. Married Patsy Kay Koford, parents of seven children.

J. Russell and Elaine Homer

J. Russell Homer, 65, Hill Cumorah Visitors Center; Willow Creek 8th Ward, Sandy Utah Willow Creek Stake; former bishop, temple ordinance worker, Scoutmaster. Earned master of business administration degree from the University of Utah; managing director of Materials Management for the Church. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Paul Yarnal and Della Rogerson Homer. Married Elaine James, parents of five children.

Carmen and Garth Hall

Garth Victor Hall, 73, Idaho Falls Idaho Temple Visitors Center; Cedar Ridge Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho South Stake; former visitors center director, stake president, gospel doctrine teacher. Studied agriculture at Brigham Young University; dairy farmer. Born in Rigby, Idaho, to Victor Warren and Whaneta Goody Hall. Married Carmen Bitter, 10 children.

Kay and Norman White

Norman Nelson White, 72, Los Angeles Temple California Visitors Center; Edgemont 5th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; former president of Preston England Missionary Training Center, stake president, president of the California Sacramento Mission. Earned doctorate in educational administration from Brigham Young University; associate administrative director of Provo Missionary Training Center. Born in Beaver, Utah, to Burton Morgan and Della Mary Nelson White. Married Kay Irene Moser, parents of seven children.

Cecile and Douglas Scribner

Douglas MacKenzie Scribner, 65, Hamiliton New Zealand Temple Visitors Center; Brush Creek Ward, Santa Rosa California Stake; former ward missionary, stake president, counselor in Scotland Edinburgh Mission presidency. Earned master's degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University; retired from Agilent Technologies/HP. Born in Oakland, Calif., to Gordon Raymond and Alice Jane Johnson Scribner. Married Cecile James, parents of eight children.

Rena and Ronald Thurber
Ronald Waldo Thurber, 66, Mormon Trail Center at Historic Winter Quarters; Boise 3rd Ward, Boise Idaho South Stake; former counselor in stake presidency, bishop, ward organist, early morning seminary teacher. Earned master's degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley; architect. Born in Boise, Idaho, to Waldo Arion and Evian Pearl Seetin Thurber. Married Rena Elwira Schartner, parents of three children.
