Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been
announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1.
Their assignments will be announced later. The new leaders and their wives
are:
Shannon and Lowell Barber
Lowell Coy Barber, 56, Pasco
4th Ward, Pasco Washington Stake; Area Authority Seventy; former stake
president, bishop, counselor in bishopric, seminary teacher and missionary.
Attorney. Born in Tacoma, Wash., to David Keith and Gloria Louise Coy
Barber. Married
Shannon Fielding, six
children.
A Relief Society president, she is a former Primary president and
counselor in Relief Society presidency. Born in Powell, Wyo., to Marion
Orland and Faye Jackson Fielding.
Kenneth and Margrit Harris
Kenneth Russell Harris, 51, Bear
Canyon Ward, Albuquerque New Mexico Stake; public affairs missionary in the
Philippines Area; former counselor in stake Sunday School presidency, high
councilor, counselor in bishopric and missionary in the North Germany
Hamburg Mission. Partner in private business. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah,
to James Kenneth and Emma Margaret Koller Harris. Married
Margrit Lilly Fischbacher, three children.
A public affairs missionary with her husband, she is a former stake
employment specialist, counselor in Relief Society and Primary presidencies
and missionary in the North Germany Hamburg Mission. Born in Rondebosch,
South Africa, to Ernst and Nelly Hiltpold Fischbacher.
Margaret and Dean Jensen
Dean Condie Jensen, 57, Las Sendas
Ward, Mesa Arizona Salt River Stake; missionary in the Indonesia Jakarta
Mission; former stake executive secretary and clerk, stake Young Men
president, high councilor and bishop. President of Dean Jensen Construction
Co. Born in Boise, Idaho, to Weldon Tolman and Roma Condie Jensen. Married
Margaret Jean Hoopes, seven children.
A missionary with her husband in the Indonesia Jakarta Mission, she is a
former counselor in the stake Young Women presidency, stake missionary,
ward Relief Society and Young Women president and gospel doctrine teacher.

Ralph and Judith Marsh
Ralph Joseph Marsh, 66, Bonneville 1st
Ward, Salt Lake Bonneville Stake; counselor in bishopric; former stake
Sunday School president, high councilor, Aaronic Priesthood adviser, gospel
doctrine teacher and missionary in the Swedish mission. Attorney. Born in
Salt Lake City, Utah, to Marion Thirl and Mary LaNore Elggren Marsh.

Judith Backman, seven children.
A Relief Society teacher, she is a former Young Women president,
counselor in Relief Society presidency, Lambda Delta Sigma assistant area
adviser and Church Service missionary. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to
Robert LeGrand and Virginia Pickett Backman.
Melissa and Paul Pieper

Area; branch president; former counselor in stake presidency, counselor in

in the Mexico Monterrey Mission. International development consultant. Born
in Pocatello, Idaho, to Dee Meyers and Norma Bowen Pieper. Married

A stake humanitarian leader, she is a former counselor in Relief Society
presidency, Young Women adviser and nursery leader. Born in Salt Lake City,
Utah, to Cornelius Adolf and Hilda Evelyn Larson Kleven.

Brent LaMar Top, 50, Battle Creek 9th
Ward, Pleasant Grove Utah East Stake; high councilor; former counselor in
stake presidency, bishop, high priests group leader and missionary in the
Denmark Copenhagen Mission. Professor of Church history and doctrine at
BYU. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Norman and Alta Mary Cleverley Top.

Susan and G. Fred Yost
Glenn Fred Yost Jr., 56, Bancroft 1st
Ward, Grace Idaho Stake; missionary in the
