LAHAINA, Hawaii A recent project sponsored by the Lahaina 1st Ward Relief Society to make tropical bandages not only spread throughout the island of Maui, but also to the neighboring Hawaiian islands of Molokai and Lanai. Last month, more than 340 bandages were shipped by the ward, part of the Kahului Hawaii Stake, to the Church's Humanitarian Services Center in Salt Lake City.
Begun in September, the effort started as a ward Relief Society service project.
"We wanted something that would have benefits that would reach the world," said Relief Society President Lilly Catagul.
