Building on the success of earlier releases, "Consider the Lilies" and "Spirit of America," the Mormon Tabernacle Choir released on March 16 its third album on its solely owned label featuring the choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. The album, titled, "Peace Like a River," is a collection of songs offering comfort, assurance, and hope.

Conducted by music director Craig Jessop, with many new arrangements by associate director Mack Wilberg, the album features compositions by John Rutter, Janice Kapp Perry and Irving Berlin, in a rich mixture of spirituals, folk songs, lullabies and hymns.

The 17-track collection, all newly recorded songs, includes the stirring title song "Peace Like a River," as well as favorites such as "Be Still My Soul," "The Lord Is My Shepherd," "All Things Bright and Beautiful," "A Child's Prayer," and "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep."

Selections from "Peace Like a River" (Mormon Tabernacle Choir, distributed by Shadow Mountain, $16.98) also include the spirituals and folk songs, "Deep River," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," and "Wayfarin' Stranger."

"Peace Like a River" is available at Deseret Book, deseretbook.com and wherever inspirational music is sold.
