"We come to this world in many colors, shapes, sizes and circumstances. We don't have to be rich, tall, thin, brilliant or beautiful to be saved in the kingdom of God; only pure. We need to be obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ and keep his commandments. And we can all choose to do that regardless of where we live or what we look like."
President Hinckley said earlier this year that a brotherhood exists among members, "that neither color of skin nor land of birth can separate us as thy sons and daughters."
"We invite men and women everywhere, whatever language or culture to come unto Christ, and partake of his goodness, and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female . . . for all are alike unto God."
"Because of repentance and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, our garments can be spotless, pure, fair and white."
The Book of Mormon prophet Nephi wrote, "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children (and our grandchildren) may know to what source they may look for a remissions of their sins."
The road of life is strewn with spiritual mudslides. Whatever sins and imperfections may be present, attack them with missionary zeal. "And may we thank our Heavenly Father for sending us his Son Jesus Christ to forgive us our mud spots so that we may stand spotless before him."
