Carry spirit
As we return to our homes, may we carry with us the spirit of this great convocation. May what we have heard and experienced remain with us as a residual of love and peace, an attitude of repentance, and a resolve to stand a little taller in the radiant sunlight of the gospel. (Page 18) President Gordon B. Hinckley
Choices
Some of our important choices have a time line. If we delay a decision the opportunity is gone forever. Sometimes our doubts keep us from making a choice that involves change. Thus an opportunity may be missed. As someone once said, "When you have to make a choice and don't make it, that is in itself a choice." (Page 21) President James E. Faust
Learn at home
It is in the home where fathers and mothers can teach provident living to their children. Sharing of tasks and helping one another sets a pattern for future families as children grow, marry and leave home. The lessons learned in the home are those that last the longest. (Page 4) President Thomas S. Monson
Messages from God
We must strive to be worthy so that we do not miss the profound messages that come from God. Ultimately these messages include the sum total of the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Page 11) President James E. Faust
Only the beginning
Notwithstanding the great evil of these times, what a glorious season it has been and now is. A new day has come in the work of the Almighty. That work has grown and strengthened and moved across the earth. It has now touched for good the lives of millions, and this is only the beginning. (Page 10) President Gordon B. Hinckley
Service
We shall go on. There will always be a need. Hunger and want and catastrophes will ever be with us. And there will always be those whose hearts have been touched by the light of the gospel who will be willing to serve and work and lift the needy of the earth. (Page 20) President Gordon B. Hinckley
Worthiness
If we are on the Lord's errand, we are entitled to the Lord's help. That divine help, however, is predicated upon our worthiness. To sail safely the seas of mortality, to perform a human rescue mission, we need the guidance of that eternal mariner even the great Jehovah. We look up, we reach out, to obtain heavenly help. (Page 21) President Thomas S. Monson
Youth
(The Church's young people) live in a time when a great tide of evil is washing over the earth. It seems to be everywhere. Old standards are discarded. Principles of virtue and integrity are cast aside. But we find literally hundreds of thousands of our young people holding to the high standards of the gospel. They find happy and uplifting association with those of their own kind. They are improving their minds with education and their skills with discipline and their influence for good is felt ever more widely. (Page 3) President Gordon B. Hinckley
