ORANGE, Calif. — With the Newport Beach California Temple under construction nearby, youth of the Orange California Stake did a little temple building of their own during youth conference.

In keeping with the event's focus on temples, the youth were given two hours and challenged to build models of 12 temples on Saturday, June 26.

Huddling in groups of about 15 each, the youth began the project in some chaos, according to Matthew Goodman, counselor in the Orange stake presidency. But in two hours, with only Styrofoam, glue guns, and bits of black paper, grass and flowers, they created amazingly detailed replicas of the Los Angeles California, Oakland California, Cardston Alberta, Houston Texas, Laie Hawaii, Bern Switzerland, Salt Lake, Washington D.C., Nauvoo Illinois, St. George Utah, Mount Timpanogos Utah and Bountiful Utah temples.

The youth found that as they built the temples and began to concentrate on the beauty and peace symbolized by the temples, they became more unified and creative.
