MEXICO, Mo. Julie York of the Mexico Branch, Columbia Missouri Stake, placed first in tae kwon do sparring competition and is now the world sparring champ in her division for the year 2004. She won the title at the American Taekwondo Association's championship competition in Little Rock, Ark. on June 26.
Competitors were required to end the 2003-2004 tournament season ranked in the top 10. Sister York ended the year ranked fourth in sparring and third in weapons.
