Starting with a borrowed microphone in 1929, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir entered the world of broadcasting with its radio program of "Music and the Spoken Word."
Its yearlong, 75th anniversary observance culminated July 17 in a gala musical celebration, with words from President Gordon B. Hinckley, and on July 18 with the Spoken Word, featuring renowned radio broadcaster Charles Osgood. The articles are on pages 6, 8-10.
