LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Kimlee Sorn, 8, claimed the American Taekwondo Association's triple crown during the organization's world championships here the last week of June.

Kimlee, the daughter of Kimlay and Vanthy Sorn of the Corona 4th Ward, Corona California Stake, won the world championships in all three competitions — forms, weapons and sparring — in her age division of second-degree black belts.

Her parents, both born in Cambodia, started Kimlee in tae kwon do at age 4.

After winning in forms and weapons, Kimlee trailed her opponent for the sparring by two points. But then she executed consecutive two and three-point moves to claim that championship.
