Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Quorum of the Twelve, a former University of Utah football player, joined students and football fans at the second annual Ute Football Kickoff in the school's Rice-Eccles Stadium Tuesday evening, Aug. 31. The activity was organized by the Institute Activities Council of the Salt Lake City University Institute adjacent to the campus, with cooperation from other student organizations. One of the organizers from the institute, Amy Krantz, said, "Having Elder Wirthlin there brought the spirit." He spoke briefly to approximately 3,000 people, relating the lessons of football to life.
