Relief Society is a blessing that touches many lives.

It is a fundamental part of the gospel that provides comfort and love to those in need. Sisters are provided with opportunities to learn, love, serve and be filled with the love of the Lord.

"Relief Society has helped me know the Savior and has strengthened my love for him and my Heavenly Father."

The Relief Society was organized in 1842 to care for the poor and needy at an extremely difficult time for the church. Enemies were threatening the Prophet Joseph Smith every day.

Seeking comfort, the prophet turned to sisters in the Relief Society for solace. If the Relief Society can bless a prophet's life, it can bless those of women who participate.

Relief Society is designed to fill homes with love and charity so women can nurture and strengthen themselves and their families. Belonging to the group is critical for newly baptized sisters and their families. These new members can feel comfortable with their new friends to ask questions and learn of other women's experiences in the gospel.

All can be changed and blessed by supporting and participating in Relief Society.

"My belonging to Relief Society has renewed, strengthened and committed me to be a better wife, mother and daughter of God. My heart has been enlarged with gospel understanding, and with love of the Savior and what he's done for me.

"So to you, dear sisters, I say, 'Come to Relief Society.' "
