"The Apostle Paul said perilous times shall come in the last days."

He did not promise that things would get easier or better. Paul's direction is relevant today and we are assured these things are true. Everyone's circumstances are unique. Absolute avoidance of so many perils in today's world is impossible.

But Latter-day Saints are not left without hope because their hope is centered in Jesus Christ.

"I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me."

How grateful all should be in these perilous times that Jesus lives.

In modern times, Latter-day Saints have been promised many different spiritual gifts.

"To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God , and that he was crucified for the sins of the world. To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful." (Doctrine and Covenants 46:13-14.)

President James E. Faust said many years ago that those with honest doubts can look to the testimonies of the ancient prophets and apostles.

That the redeemer lives was a message of the prophet Alma in the Book of Mormon, as it was for the other prophets. Alma prophesied from the New World that the Savior would be born into mortality a few decades into the future. Most of his prophecies have now been fulfilled.

As church members learn line upon line and precept upon precept, their appreciation for the Savior increases.
