A pair of LDS athletes claimed bronze medals at the recent 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens Greece.
• Utahn Chris Dodds, 21, helped guide Team USA to a third place finish at the Games' goalball tournament. The Americans defeated Canada to secure the bronze.
Goalball is a soccer-like sport played on an indoor volleyball court. Sight-impaired athletes try to roll a weighted ball into the opposing team's goal.
• Carly Haynie, 19, Alabama, placed third in the women's SB9 100 meter breaststroke.
"I had my best time, so I'm thrilled," Sister Haynie told the USOC Press Box. "And the bronze medal doesn't hurt either."
Despite being born without a right hand, Sister Haynie has been swimming competitively against able-bodied athletes since she was a little girl.
