A new mission president, called by the First Presidency, has been announced.

Elayne and Gary Sorensen
Charles Gary Sorensen, 62; serving since September as president of the Argentina Neuquen Mission; Paradise Ward, Hyrum Utah Stake; former president of the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Argentina Neuquen Mission. Part owner of several businesses. Born in Hyrum, Utah, to Alma Peter and Ada Gibbons Sorensen. Married Elayne Leavitt Doty, six children.

Sister Sorensen served with her husband when he was a mission president in the Dominican Republic. She is a former stake Young Women president, stake Young Women sports director, ward Relief Society president, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the Argentina Neuquen Mission. Born in Tonapah, Nev., to Harold Oliver and Lorean Lewis Doty.
