LONG BEACH, Calif. Having already participated in putting together humanitarian packages for hurricane victims in Florida, the youth of the Long Beach 4th Ward, Long Beach California Stake, wanted to do something in addition to that for the tsunami victims in Southeast Asia.
The young men and young women of the ward got together and wrote letters of comfort, friendship and encouragement which will be hand-delivered to children in Sri Lanka by fellow ward members Robert and Laida Jones.
Brother and Sister Jones have been helping orphans and displaced children in India and Mexico.
They departed Jan. 10 for Sri Lanka to lend whatever help they can. Along with them go the letters written by the youth which will be translated and distributed for those many children injured and orphaned by the disaster.
