ST. GEROGE, Utah — Members of the Morningside 7th Ward, St. George Utah Morningside Stake, are primarily retirees, with the average age about 75, but they are not retired from humanitarian work. Some 30 to 40 meet weekly for two hours and complete projects for Humanitarian Services. They also donate funds and work on projects at home. In 2004, they delivered to Humanitarian Services 180 quilts, 568 hygiene kits, 550 newborn kits, 2,239 painted and customized wooden toy cars, 19 tropical bandages, 158 scarves, 19 school bags, 93 picture books, 35 stuffed animals and 11 dolls. There were more than 7,000 hours of service reported — with many more unreported.
