Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new leaders and their wives are:

Kathleen and Leonard Anderson
Leonard M Anderson, 60; Bremerton 3rd Ward, Bremerton Washington Stake; stake president; former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, ward Young Men president and missionary in the New Zealand Auckland Mission. Assistant vice president at AMSEC. Born in Laramie, Wyo., to Roice Hyrum and Lena Ruth Moser Anderson. Married Kathleen Milligan, seven children.

A ward Relief Society president, Sister Anderson is a former stake Young Women president, stake Primary music leader, stake Young Women camp director, gospel doctrine teacher and seminary teacher. Born in Logan, Utah, to Cleve Henry and Helen Josephine Quist Milligan.

Ricardo and Janis Castillo
Ricardo Enrique Castillo, 41; Woodbriar Ward, North Salt Lake Utah Stake; bishop; former counselor in a bishopric, elders quorum secretary and teacher, Primary teacher and missionary in the Mexico Mexico City North Mission. Consultant for Cisco Systems. Born in Houston, Texas, to Ricardo and Gloria Maria Guerra Castillo. Married Janis Melinda Taylor, two children.

A Cub Scout leader, Sister Castillo is a former counselor in ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary presidencies and Young Women adviser. Born in Wheatridge, Colo., to Russell Carl and Joyce Elaine Mortensen Taylor.

Elizabeth and Scott Gill
Charles Scott Gill, 57; San Diego 6th Ward, San Diego California Stake; high councilor; former counselor in a mission presidency, stake president, bishop, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the Andes South Mission. Retired assistant director of facilities management at the University of San Diego. Born in San Diego, Calif., to DeVoe Charles and E. Faelm Dursteler Gill. Married Elizabeth Ann Sheldon, five children.

Sister Gill is a former stake education specialist, ward Young Women president, Relief Society and Primary teacher and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in San Diego, Calif., to Allen Clayton and Dorothy Mowry Allen Sheldon.

Mary and Michael Lake
Michael Smith Lake, 63; Brighton 8th Ward, Salt Lake Brighton Stake; former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher, institute teacher and missionary in the Great Lakes Mission. Retired president and owner of MidWest Office Furniture Company. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Ball and Virginia Smith Lake. Married Mary Lee Menlove, four children.

A Relief Society teacher, Sister Lake is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and LDSSA sorority adviser. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Earnest Lavon and Edna Neoma Jacobsen Menlove.

Hugo and Nuria Morales
Hugo Edgardo Martinez Morales, 48; Arecibo Branch, Arecibo Puerto Rico District; counselor in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission presidency and seminary teacher; former counselor in a stake presidency, district president, bishop, elders quorum president and elders quorum secretary. Medical consultant. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to Hugo Edgardo Martinez Sandin and Daly Alamo de Morales. Married Nuria Merced Alvarez Pagan, five children.

A Sunday School teacher and district choir director, Sister Martinez is a former ward Relief Society president, ward and branch Young Women president, Primary music leader and ward inservice leader. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Urselio Alvarez Toro and Luz Alaida Pagan Rodriguez de Alvarez.

Susan and Stephen Parkinson
Stephen Keller Parkinson, 50; Fair Oaks 4th Ward, Fair Oaks California Stake; high councilor and seminary teacher; former bishop, counselor in a bishopric, gospel doctrine teacher, Primary teacher and missionary in the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission. Anesthesiologist and partner in a real estate development company. Born in Ashton, Idaho, to Leonard Spencer and Joyce Keller Parkinson. Married Susan Clark, four children.

A seminary teacher, Sister Parkinson is a former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president, ward organist and Primary pianist. Born in Logan, Utah, to Charles Elmer and Rhoda May Lyman Clark.

Stephanie and Holger Rakow
Holger Detlef Rakow, 49; Dahlem Ward, Berlin Germany Stake; Area Authority Seventy; former area authority, stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Austria Vienna Mission. Co-owner of Capital Consens. Born in Berlin, Germany, to Hans Friedrich Karl Rakow and Gertrud Hildegard Forster Dannel. Married Stephanie Hildegard Elisabeth Broich, five children.

A Relief Society teacher, Sister Rakow is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Relief Society and Primary president, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Julich, Germany, to Werner Alfons and Elisabeth Karola Berta Kuckertz Broich.

Clifford and Rosalyn Whetten
Clifford Leon Whetten, 59; Sonterra Ward, San Antonio Texas North Stake; temple ordinance worker; former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, branch president and missionary in the Northern Mexican Mission. Professor at Texas A&M University. Born in Colonia Chuichupa, Mexico, to Glen Adrian and Ada Mae Judd Whetten. Married Rosalyn Hatch, four children.

A temple ordinance worker and Relief Society teacher, Sister Whetten is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society and Young Women president and gospel essentials teacher. Born in Colonia Dublan, Mexico, to Ernest LeRoy and Marza Lunt Hatch.
