Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been
announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1.

Susan and Dale Andersen
Dale Edwin Andersen, 58; Ukraine
Donetsk Mission; Harris 2nd Ward, Mesa Arizona Central Stake; stake
president; former stake executive secretary, bishop, ward Young Men
president and missionary in the Finnish Mission. Attorney. Born in Provo,
Utah, to Hans Verland and Shirley Hoyt Andersen. Married
Susan Ramona Jacob, eight children.
A Relief Society teacher, Sister Andersen is a former ward Young Women
president, Sunday School teacher, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in
the Australia Sydney Mission. Born in American Fork, Utah, to Calvin Keith
and Ramona Monson Jacob.
Brian and Leslie Carmack
Brian Bartley Carmack, 49; Mexico
Tijuana Mission; Castlerock Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho Taylor Mountain Stake;
bishop of the BYU-Idaho 36th Ward; former high councilor, ward Young Men
president, Aaronic priesthood adviser and missionary in the Chile Mission.

Van Craig Gessel, 54; Oregon Portland
Mission; Northridge 3rd Ward, Orem Utah Northridge Stake; regional welfare
agent and institute instructor; former stake president, high councilor,
bishop and missionary in the Japan Okinawa Mission. Professor of Japanese
and dean of the College of Humanities at BYU. Born in Compton, Calif., to
Easton Mathews and Harrietta Robinson Gessel. Married

A ward organist and institute instructor, Sister Gessel is a former
stake and ward Relief Society president, and Relief Society teacher. Born
in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Roy M and Kathleen Latham Darley.

Randall Greene Harmsen, 59; California

Paul Burton Price, 58; Samoa Apia
