Senior couple missionaries are uniquely prepared to give faith, sacrifice and service. That work is always rewarded with an outpouring of blessings.

Couple missionaries must confront with faith the obstacles of fear, family concerns, finding the right mission opportunity and financial challenges.

Family concerns, like leaving elderly parents, are real and should be considered, but family challenges must be met with the blessings of the Lord. Such blessings will be received through a trial of one's faith. Even for those who cannot serve physically, they can donate financially to the missionary effort.

A senior mission does not have to be in a distant country but can be within a stake area. Many opportunities are available to serve with the youths in the Church Education System, to work in welfare and humanitarian services, in temples, in family history centers, mission offices and historic sites.

Couples should talk to their bishop about serving a mission and begin preparing for that opportunity by saving money, studying the scriptures, accepting church callings and praying to feel the Lord's love.

"My brothers and sisters, if you have felt stirrings to engage in this work, however quiet those feelings may be, do not procrastinate the day of your service. Now is the time to prepare, the time to be called, the time to sacrifice, the time to share your gifts and talents, and now is the time to receive God's blessings for you and your family."
