Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Mission presidents' assignments were announced in the Feb. 26, 2005, issue of the Church News.

Milton and Barbara Brinton
Milton Harvey Brinton, 55; Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission; Wenatchee 3rd Ward, Wenatchee Washington Stake; temple ordinance worker and assistant Aaronic priesthood adviser; former stake president and counselor and missionary in the Brazil North Mission. Vascular surgeon. Born in Chicago, Ill., to Milton Howe and Leah Pearl Ritchie Brinton. Married Barbara Haslam, seven children.

A counselor in the ward Relief Society presidency and stake seminary coordinator, Sister Brinton is a former counselor in stake Young Women and Primary presidencies and ward Relief Society president. Born in Provo, Utah, to Glen Wagstaff and Barta Ann Jones Haslam.

Paul and Mary Clayton
Paul Douglas Clayton, 62; Albania Tirana Mission; Monument Park 13th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park Stake; high councilor; former bishop and counselor and missionary in the German Central Mission. Chief medical informatics officer for IHC. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Sutherland Whipple and Mavis Greer Clayton. Married Mary Elizabeth Cowley, eight children.

A counselor in the ward Relief Society presidency, Sister Clayton is a former stake and ward Relief Society president and ward Young Women president. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Foss and Marian Bennion Cowley.

JoNell and Kim Davis
Roy Kim Davis, 58; Ukraine Kiev Mission; Little Cottonwood 18th Ward, Murray Utah Little Cottonwood Stake; missionary preparation teacher; former stake president, bishop and missionary in the Norwegian Mission. Physician. Born in Logan, Utah, to William Roy and Nellie Katherine Johnsen Davis. Married JoNell Ricks, six children.

A temple preparation teacher and ward employment specialist, Sister Davis is a former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president. Born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Rudger Vernon and Laura Louise Beebe Ricks.

Liliane and Paulo Itinose
Paulo Henrique Itinose, 38; Brazil Manaus Mission; Higienopolis Ward, Aracatuba Brazil Stake; former counselor in a mission presidency, stake president and missionary in the Brazil Curitiba Mission. Oral surgeon. Born in Aracatuba, Brazil, to Yassuto and Jane Antuza Cardoza Itinose. Married Liliane de Abreu Campana, four children.

A counselor in the ward Young Women presidency, Sister Itinose is a former stake Relief Society and Young Women president and counselor in a stake Young Women presidency. Born in Aracatuba, Brazil, to Antonio and Lilia Abreu Campana.

Dea and Marcia Montague
Wallace Dea Montague Jr., 59; Colorado Denver North Mission; Vineyard Ward, Mesa Arizona Maricopa Stake; stake Young Men president, area public affairs director and Primary teacher; former regional representative, stake president and missionary in the Texas Mission. Former attorney and general manager of Medical Billing Management. Born in Orange, Calif., to Wallace Dea and Maxine Walker Montague. Married Marcia Lindblom, nine children.

A counselor in the ward Primary presidency, Sister Montague is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency and ward Relief Society and Primary president. Born in Oak Ridge, Tenn., to James Buse and Frances Emma Lindsey Lindblom.

Steven and Karen Pond
Steven Howard Pond, 61; France Paris Mission; Castle Rock Ward, Longview Washington Stake; counselor in the presidency of the Washington Kennewick Mission; former Area Authority Seventy, regional representative and missionary in the French Mission. Attorney. Born in Taft, Calif., to Howard Martin and Kathryn Griffin Pond. Married Karen Diane Burgoyne, seven children.

The stake Relief Society president, Sister Pond is a former stake and ward Young Women president and ward Primary president. Born in Boston, Mass., to Robert Hyrum Burgoyne and Beulah Mae Daines Petersen.

Maria and Alfonso Ramos
Alfonso Ramos L., 47; Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission; Maravillas Ward, Puebla Mexico Fuertes Stake; Area Seventy; former counselor in a mission presidency, stake president and missionary in the Mexico Monterrey Mission. Former CFO of Luk Autopartes. Born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Ernesto Ramos G. and Magdalena Landaverde L. de Ramos. Married Maria Cristina Melchor A., four children.

A counselor in the ward Relief Society presidency, Sister Ramos is a former stake Young Women president and counselor in stake and ward Relief Society presidencies. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, to Jesus Melchor M. and Cleotilde Alvarez C. de Melchor.

Judy and Lloyd Smith
Robert Lloyd Smith, 62; Minnesota Minneapolis Mission; Pellissippi Ward, Knoxville Tennessee Stake; ward Young Men president; former Area Authority Seventy, regional representative and stake president. Radiologist. Born in Atlanta, Ga., to Robert William and Essie Ruth Arrowwood Smith. Married Judy Lee Rees, six children.

A marriage and family relations teacher, Sister Smith is a former stake and ward Relief Society president and counselor in a stake Young Women presidency. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Richard Grant and Dorothy Fry Brimley Rees.
