Family: Born Feb. 20, 1953, in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, to Afredo De Hoyos and Sara Estrada de De Hoyos. Married Evelia Genesta June 4, 1975, in Mexico City. Sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple; six children (and spouses): Alfredo (Adriana), Ada Sariah, Samuel Antonio (Alejandra), Alberto, Andres, and Esteban.

Employment: Worked as the CES director of the Mexico South Area.

Education: Bachelor's degree in education from Normal Superior Benavente. Master's degree in business management from Chapultepec University, Mexico City.

Church service: Former Area Seventy, 1995-2005; president of the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission, 1996-1999; stake president (twice) and counselor (twice); branch president; high councilor; and missionary in the Mexico Hermosillo Mission, 1972-1974.
