Family: Born June 24, 1954, in Gainesville, Fla., to Vere Hodges and Winifred Amacher Johnson. Married Leslie Jill Washburn, Aug. 18, 1976, in the Logan Utah Temple; nine children (and spouses): Sonja (Robert) Blodgett, Alisa (Joshua) Linton, Jon Paul (Bryanna), Michael A. (Amy), Matthew J., AnneMarie, Kari, Mark J., and Kirsten; 5 grandchildren.

Employment: Church Educational System Administrator of Religious Education and Elementary and Secondary Education.

Education: Bachelor's degree in zoology and master's degree in counseling and guidance from BYU, doctorate in instructional technology from Utah State University.

Church service: Former Area Seventy, 2003 to 2005; counselor in stake presidency; bishop; and missionary in the Norway Oslo Mission.
