Two new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Mission presidents' assignments were announced in the Feb. 26, 2005, issue of the Church News.

Phillip and Victoria Estes
Phillip Estes, 59; Finland Helsinki Mission; Satellite Beach Ward, Cocoa Florida Stake; former stake president, stake and ward Young Men president, high councilor and missionary in the Finland Helsinki Mission. Dentist. Parents, Philip Estes (deceased) and Phyllis Brenda Heal Estes Ferriera; born in Lewiston, Maine. Married Victoria Leslie Hessen, four children.

Sister Estes is a former stake and ward Primary president, ward Relief Society president, LDS Family Services coordinator and Relief Society teacher. Born in Miami, Fla., to Stephen and Virginia Lee Leslie Hessen.

Shelley and Robert Packer
Robert Noel Packer, 49; California San Diego Mission; Lafayette Ward, Oakland California Stake; bishop; former high councilor, counselor in a bishopric, ward Young Men adviser, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Uruguay Paraguay Mission. Self-employed. Born in Brigham City, Utah, to Leon C. and Lou Jean Scoffield Packer. Married Shelley Holmgren, five children.

A ward Relief Society board member, Sister Packer is a former counselor in stake and ward Primary presidencies, nursery leader, Primary teacher and Young Women adviser. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah; parents, Lynne Stuart Holmgren and Mary Merle Cannon Holmgren Anderson.
