Family: Born March 30, 1947, at Washington, D.C., to Albert D. and Jennie Romney Swensen; married Dennis R. Lifferth on Aug. 16, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple; children (and spouses): Lisa Brown (Gardner), Rick (Melyn), Kristine Eccles (Spencer), Shauna Powell (Randy), Brian (Cindy), Jennie Frey (Tanner), David; 14 grandchildren.

Education: Bachelor's degree in English from BYU.

Church service: Member of Primary general board, 2000-2005; former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, member of stake Relief Society presidency, member of ward Primary presidency, teacher in all auxiliaries, docent in Museum of Church History and Art.
