Three newly called temple presidents and matrons have been announced by
the First Presidency.
Norman and Lou Ann Angus
Norman Glen Angus, 70, of the Ballard
North Ward, Roosevelt Utah East Stake, called as president of the Vernal
Utah Temple, succeeding Howard G. Todd. President Angus' wife,
Lou Ann Morrill Angus, will serve as temple matron.
President Angus, an ordinance worker in the
Vernal Utah Temple and a Young
Men president, is a former president of the Jamaica Kingston Mission, a
stake president, a stake president's counselor, a stake Young Men
president, a bishop and a counselor in the bishopric. He is a retired
regional director of Utah Department of Human Services. He was born in
Ballard, Utah, to Leland Moore and Minnie Opal Lewis Angus.
Sister Angus is an ordinance worker in the Vernal Utah Temple and a ward
Relief Society president, and a former ward Young Women and Primary
president, and a ward Relief Society counselor. She was born in Vernal,
Utah, to H. LeRoy and Clara Elizabeth Bartlett Morrill.
Marian and Robert Marriott
Robert Benjamin Marriott, 69, of Vista
1st Ward, Vista California Stake, called to the
Guayaquil Ecuador Temple,
succeeding President Blair D. Pincock. President Marriott's wife,
Marian Florence Fitch Marriott, will serve as
temple matron. President Marriott, a president's counselor in the San Diego
California Temple, is a former president's counselor in the Guayaquil
Ecuador Temple, an assistant temple recorder, a temple ordinance worker, a
stake mission president, a stake high councilor and an elders quorum
president. A retired visual arts teacher and a photography business owner,
he was born in Roseville, Calif., to Jack Elwood and Juanita Rose Story
Marriott.
Sister Marriott, assistant to the matron in the San Diego California
Temple, is a former temple ordinance worker, assistant to the matron in the
Guayaquil Ecuador Temple, a ward and stake Relief Society president and a
Primary president. She was born in San Diego, Calif., to Warren Winthrop
and Dora Price Fitch.
Gordon and Connie Watts
Gordon Taylor Watts, 70, of the
Pioneer Ward, South Weber Utah Stake, called as president of the Ogden Utah
Temple, succeeding President Dale L. Gardner. President Watts' wife,
Connie Welling Watts, will serve as temple matron.
President Watts serves on the Young Men general board and is a former
General Authority in the North America Southeast and East Area
presidencies, president of the
Philippines Quezon City Mission, a regional
representative, a stake president, a high councilor and a bishop. A retired
sales and marketing manager of Ford Motor Co., he was born in South Weber,
Utah, to Elwood Taylor and Edna Davis Watts.
Sister Watts, a ward Relief Society teacher, is a former counselor in
Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, a Primary president, a Young
Women adviser, and a Relief Society teacher. She was born in Logan, Utah,
to Wendell Holmes and Elsie Margaret Godfrey Welling.
