This year, in conjunction with the 175th anniversary of the organization
of the Church and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Joseph
Smith, youth, under direction of priesthood and auxiliary leaders, are
holding cultural events in small or large venues from California to
West Africa, and places beyond.
This week, the Church News highlighted
several of those events: grand celebrations highlighting music and dance
were held in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Logan and Cedar City, Utah, on July
15-16. A week earlier, youth gathered in St. George, Utah. On June 11,
youth in Jos Nigeria District performed. And these are just the beginning.
Youth celebrations have and will be held this year across the globe.
Each, say youth leaders who have put in thousands of hours to
organize the events is achieving the goal to help Latter-day Saint
youth build their testimonies and faith.
