Announced: The First Presidency announced on July 16, 2003, that the Apia Samoa Temple, which was destroyed by fire on July 9, would be rebuilt.

Rooms: Celestial Room, baptistry, two ordinance rooms, two sealing rooms.
Total floor area: 18,691 square feet.
District: Members from 20 stakes in Samoa and American Samoa.
History: Original Apia Samoa Temple was announced in 1977 and dedicated six years later by President Gordon B. Hinckley. Fire destroyed that building July 9, 2003. Open house Aug. 6 to Aug. 27, 2005, excluding Sundays; total attendance 45,004. Dedicated in two sessions Sept. 4, 2005, by President Gordon B. Hinckley, temple district dedication attendance, 16,037.
