SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Family History Library, the staff is holding a birthday party Monday, Oct. 24, and the public is invited.

The library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and birthday cake will be served to all visitors.

The library was dedicated in a private service Oct. 23, 1985, by President Gordon B. Hinckley, then first counselor in the First Presidency, and opened to the public Oct. 25. At the time of its dedication, the library was said to be the most modern and best equipped in the world.
