SEQUIM, Wash. Members of the Sequim 1st Ward, Port Angeles Washington Stake, sponsored a communitywide "garage sale" on Oct. 29 at the city of Sequim's Community Center. The sale was to raise funds for emergency relief. In partnership with the ward members were members of Trinity United Methodist Church. Donations came from area churches, local citizens, and the Sequim City Council sent funds to pay for the rental of the community center.
The sale was a success, with $4,000 being raised. Crowds were continuous and generous. At the conclusion of the event, a decision was made to divide funds between the Church's Emergency Response Fund and UMCORPS, the Methodist Church's relief organization.
