The First Presidency has announced the calling of 10 new visitors center directors. The new leaders and their wives will begin service in January 2006. Here are brief biographical summaries:

Pat B. and Sherry H. Brian
Pat Bernell Brian, 67, Historic Kirtland Visitors Center; South Mountain 1st Ward, Draper Utah South Mountain Stake; former temple ordinance worker, regional representative, mission president, stake president, bishop and missionary. Judge for state of Utah. Born in Loa, Utah, to Arthur Dudley and Wilma Adel Larsen Brian. Married Sherry Hale.

She is a former ward Relief Society president and teacher, counselor in ward Young Women presidency and adviser, and stake Relief Society board member. Born in Murray, Utah, to Nathan James and Ruth Emma Hudson Hale.

Karla J. and Robert J. Burtenshaw
Robert John Burtenshaw, 72, Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center; Iona 8th Ward, Iona Idaho Stake; former stake president, high councilor, bishop and missionary. Radio personality. Born in Shelton, Idaho, to John Robert and Lilly Dale Humphrey Burtenshaw. Married Karla Westergard Judy.

She is a former ward Relief Society teacher, missionary, ward Primary teacher, stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president and stake athletic director. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Riley Denning and Iris Oswald Westergard.

Lila E. and Alvin W. Emery
Alvin Wilford Emery, 67, Mormon Trail at Historic Winter Quarters; Brighton 8th Ward, Salt Lake Brighton Stake; former mission president, high councilor, Aaronic Priesthood adviser, ward Young Men president and counselor in a bishopric. Chairman and founder of Matrix Funding Corp. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wilford Newman and Maxine Ella Sly Emery. Married Lila Ann Evans.

She is a former visiting teacher coordinator, wife of mission president, Relief Society general board member, ward Relief Society president and counselor and ward Young Women camp director.

Lawrence K. and Alexandria S. Eyre
Lawrence Kent Eyre, 70, New Zealand Temple Visitors Center; Poway Ward, Poway California Stake; former counselor in branch presidency, temple ordinance worker, ward clerk, stake missionary and stake executive secretary. Assistant director of Land Use and Planning for San Diego Unified Port District. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Basil and Ethel Gerrard Eyre. Married Alexandria Wing Smith.

She is a former ward Relief Society president, temple ordinance worker, gospel doctrine instructor and ward Primary teacher. Born in Garden City, Kan., to Elias Wesley and Constance Marion Jensen Smith.

Dale and Sheree M. Gubler
Dale Gubler, 73, San Diego Mormon Battalion Historic Site; Santa Clara 1st Ward, Santa Clara Utah Stake; former director of Cove Fort Historic Site, temple sealer, missionary, stake president, high councilor and bishop. Self employed. Born in Santa Clara, Utah, to Archie Henry and Marie Blake Gubler. Married Sheree Miles.

She is a former temple ordinance worker, ward chorister, ward Relief Society teacher and president, counselor in stake Relief Society presidency, counselor in Primary presidency, counselor in ward Young Women presidency. Born in St. George, Utah, to Edward Colburn and Orenia De Friez Miles.

Lynda F. and Noal R. Hardcastle

David A. and Darelyn S. Peterson

Attorney. Born in San Francisco, Calif., to Paul Alton and Dorothy Jensen Peterson. Married Darelyn Servoss.

She is a former international affairs committee member for the Church in Washington, D.C., counselor in ward Relief Society presidency, stake cultural arts specialist, counselor in ward Primary presidency, and ward and stake Young Women president.

Robert Warner Poll, 63, Independence Visitors Center; Mountain Green Ward, Morgan Utah North Stake; former region welfare agent, Church writing committee, institute instructor, mission president, stake president, bishop, high councilor and missionary. Sales professional for Blaine Jensen RV Center. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Verl Jacques and June Warner Poll. Married Judith Montgomery.

She is a former ward Primary teacher and counselor in presidency, ward Young Women adviser and wife of mission president. Born in Huntsville, Utah, to Leland James and Ellen Lucille Harrison Montgomery.

Glenn T. and Mary T. Potter
