Millions of public television viewers around the United States are expected to make the Mormon Tabernacle Choir part of their Christmas celebration this year.
The annual Christmas concert of the choir and Orchestra at Temple Square from the 2004 season featuring actor Peter Graves and soprano Audra McDonald will air in 97 percent of the markets around the country on 317 PBS stations. Most stations will air the broadcast on Wednesday, Dec. 21, or Saturday, Dec. 24. Viewers should check local television listings for dates and times.
A four-time Tony Award winner, Miss McDonald's talents were showcased in a medley of African-American spirituals and contemporary favorites.
Mr. Graves gave an abridged retelling of Henry Van Dyke's "Story of the Other Wise Man," to the background of orchestra and choir music.
