The first seven new mission presidents and their wives, called by the
First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders will begin their
service about July 1. Assignments will be announced later. The new mission
leaders and their wives are:
Karl G. and Ingrid Borcherding
Karl Gunter Borcherding, 48,
Stadthagen Ward, Hannover Germany Stake, former stake president's
counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, and counselor in a
stake Young Men presidency and missionary in the Switzerland Zurich
Mission. CES coordinator and former general manager of Scandinavian MOB.
Born in Stradhagen, Germany, to Karl Friedrich and Hanna Ruth Wolfert
Borcherding. Married
Ingrid Thoma; four
children.
Sister Borcherding is a former ward Primary and Young Women president
and counselor. Part-time physician. Born in Eppingen, Germany, to Emil and
Emilie Gebhardt Thoma.
Fern K. and Allen F. Hill
Allen Flake Hill, 59, Union 3rd Ward,
Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake; ward mission leader, stake Young Men
president, Young Men adviser, high councilor, bishop and counselor in a
bishopric, and missionary in the Northern Far East Mission. Owner of
Churchill Group Life Insurance brokerage; born in Sacramento, Calif., to
Ralph J. and Afton Clark Hill. Married

Jones; nine children.
A Relief Society teacher, Sister Hill is a former seminary teacher,
counselor in a Young Women presidency, counselor in stake and ward Primary
and Relief Society presidencies and was Sunday School teacher. She was born
in Malad, Idaho, to Lester T. and Lillith Williams Jones.
Janice J. and W. James Keller
Wallace James Keller, 61, Rexburg 16th
Ward, Rexburg Idaho East Stake; gospel doctrine teacher, Young Men
president, stake president's counselor, bishop, counselor in bishopric, and
missionary in the French East Mission. Religious Education faculty at
BYU-Idaho. Married
Janice Jeanselme; six
children.
A gospel doctrine teacher, Sister Keller is a former counselor in stake
Young Women and Relief Society presidencies, ward and stake Primary
president and ward Young Women president. She is an elementary school
teacher. Born in Price, Utah, to Albert June and Arlien Peacock Jeanselme.
Kenneth V. and Holly C. Peterson
Kenneth Virgil Peterson, 53, Heritage
2nd Ward, West Jordan Utah Heritage Stake; former stake president and
counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and counselor in a bishopric,
Scoutmaster, and missionary in the Ontario Quebec Mission. Institute
instructor in Salt Lake City. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Virgil Lyman
and Verna Marie Hedberg Peterson. Married
