FARDALE, N.J. Elder Erik Midas and Elder Michael Brown of the New Jersey Morristown Mission, serving in the Fardale Ward, Caldwell New Jersey Stake, organized a food drive, asking members to donate 1,000 cans of food to the local food bank. Food bank officials were skeptical, since no group had donated so much.
During the two-week collection period, 1,108 cans of food were gathered. The elders packaged the items and delivered them to the Interfaith Network Food Center, in Wayne, N.J. The donation provided nine weeks of food supplies.
