SALEM, Ore. — The young women of the Salem 2nd Ward, Salem Oregon Stake, dedicated 2005 to "Hearts Knit Together in Unity and Love." They learned to knit warm hats to give to those in need. Over the year, the 24 young women completed 260 hats in sizes to fit infants, children and adults. The project was so much fun that several families knit hats at home together; the bishop knit 50 hats and the Relief Society has decided to continue the knitting project.

The hats were donated in January to those in need locally and throughout the world, divided between the Salem Salvation Army and Church Humanitarian Services.
