May 20 — 1856: "Long Walk Home," a new concert opera including poetry and prose on the experiences of the Willie and Martin Handcart Companies, will be presented in the Assembly Hall at 7:30 p.m. Free admission (801-240-3323).

May 23 — Tickets for Bells on Temple Square Concert Available. The Bells on Temple Square, a 28-member handbell choir conducted by Thomas M. Waldron, presents A Summer Ring on Friday and Saturday, June 2—3, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. A "ring" is bell choir parlance for a concert of bells including classical pieces by Grieg and Beethoven, hymns and folk songs. Tickets can be obtained over the Internet or by calling 240-0080 (locally) or toll-free 1-866-537-8457 (1-866-LDS-TIKS) starting Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.

May 26 — Mountain West Chorale, local, 40-member choir will sing sacred songs and hymns, traditional folk songs, and patriotic pieces in the Assembly Hall, 7:30 p.m. Free admission (801-240-3323).

Ongoing — Garden Tours at Temple Square. Meet at the south doors of the Church Office Building for a tour of the gardens around the Beehive House, Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Church Office Building Plaza, or at the Conference Center, Door 15, for Conference Center Rooftop Garden tours, Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Also, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for Church Office Building Plaza gardens tour only.
