Family: Born July 30, 1942, in Logan, Utah, to Andrew H. and Lola Heaton Gibbons. Married LaDawn Anderson on July 21, 1967, in the Logan Utah Temple; children (spouse names in parentheses): Jeffrey (Bridget), Jennifer Hamilton (Dennis); four grandchildren.

Education: Undergraduate studies at Stanford University; medical degree from the University of Utah (1970); Masters of Public Health degree from Harvard (1978).

Employment: President and medical director of the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas.

Church service: Area Seventy, regional representative, stake president, missionary in the Netherlands 1961-64.

Military service: U.S. Army, 1971-74, reached rank of major.
