A new temple president and matron have been announced by the First Presidency.

Gerald H. and Christie Cannon Walker
Gerald H. Walker, 68, Colleyville 1st Ward, Colleyville Texas Stake, called as president of the Taipei Taiwan Temple, succeeding President Jon N. Vawdrey. President's Walker's wife, Christie Cannon Walker, will serve as temple matron. President Walker is a temple sealer, former temple president's counselor, stake patriarch, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and Scoutmaster. He is former USAF pilot and instructor and retired Delta Airlines pilot. He was born in American Fork, Utah, to Franklin R. and Helen Henderson Walker.

Sister Walker is a former assistant to the matron, ward Relief Society president, stake Relief Society and Young Women presidents' counselor, and ward and stake Primary president. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Chester John and Dorothy Hall Cannon.
