Melvin J. and Anne S. Luthy
Melvin Joseph Luthy, 69, Edgemont 10th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont North Stake, called as president of the new Helsinki Finland Temple, which will be dedicated Oct. 22, 2006. President Luthy's wife, Anne-Maj Savstrand Luthy, will serve as temple matron. President Luthy, district president of BYU-Jerusalem Center, served as president of Finland Helsinki Mission, high councilor, bishop and a senior missionary. He is a retired professor of linguistics and English language. He was born in Logan, Utah, to August and Freida Miller Luthy.

Sister Luthy served with her husband when he was a mission president and is a former Young Women president, stake Primary president, stake seminary teacher, and Relief Society president's counselor. She was born in Helsinki, Finland, to Rudolph and Signe Laurila Savstrand.
