MIAMI, Fla. — Some 800 people attended three separate hurricane preparedness fairs presented concurrently in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs, Fla., on June 10 under direction of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Multi-Stake Public Affairs Council. The three fairs, each with the same general format, were designed to serve as many South Florida residents as possible.

The events offered preparedness help through presentations by the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, County Emergency Management Agencies, sheriffs' offices, and more than 30 commercial vendors, with special food storage and preparation input from the Relief Societies of the Miami Lakes, Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach stakes.
