He is a temple sealer, and former bishop, stake president, high councilor
and missionary in the East German Mission. He is a retired physician and
major in the U.S. Army. He was born in Phoenix, Ariz., to William Henry and
Thora Allen Harless.

and Mildred Morley Seely.

Elwin Jeral Haws, 70, Mesa Vista Ward,
Santa Barbara California Stake; called as president of the San Jose Costa
Rica Temple, succeeding President Frank S. Moffett. President Haws' wife,
Joan Lynnette Gordon Haws, will serve as
temple matron. He is a former counselor in the Los Angeles California
Temple presidency, Spain Missionary Training Center president, Spain
Barcelona Mission president, stake president, bishop and missionary serving
in Central America. He is a former attorney. He was born in Los Angeles,
Calif., to Karl N. and Wanda Tremelling Haws.
Sister Haws, who served with her husband when he was mission president
and when he was a missionary training center president, is a former
assistant matron in the Los Angeles temple, seminary teacher, ward Relief
Society president and teacher, and ward Young Women and Primary president.

a supplier in the graphics industry. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, to
Wilhelm and Astrid Andersson Hoglund.
