Six new leaders have been called by the First Presidency to serve as
temple presidents and temple matrons. They will begin their three-year
service on Nov. 1.
Rita and Wayne Bringhurst
Wayne Hall Bringhurst, 73, Juniper
Ward, Fontana California Stake; called as president of the Redlands
California Temple, succeeding President Rodney J. Nelson. President
Bringhurst's wife,
Rita Louise Christensen
Bringhurst, will serve as temple matron. President Bringhurst, a
patriarch, has previously served as stake president, stake president's
counselor, mission president's counselor, bishop and temple ordinance
worker. He is a retired math teacher and owner/contractor of Bringhurst
Asphalt and Maintenance Company. He was born in Toquerville, Utah, to Leo
and Hilda Hall Bringhurst.
Sister Bringhurst has served as stake and ward Relief Society and
Primary presidents' counselor, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary
president, Young Women president's counselor, seminary teacher and temple
ordinance worker. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Adolph Mads and Ida
Louise New Christensen.
Kenneth and Priscilla Hutchins
Kenneth Gordon Hutchins, 65,
Northborough Ward, Boston Massachusetts Stake; called as president of the
Boston Massachusetts Temple, succeeding President Allan H. Barker.
President Hutchins' wife,
Priscilla Marion Glass
Hutchins, will serve as temple matron. He is a former stake
president, bishop, stake Young Men president and
Florida Tampa Mission
president. He is a retired chief of police in Northborough, Mass. He was
born in Norwood, Mass., to Kenneth Gordon and Sadie Alice Hill Hutchins.
Sister Hutchins, who served with her husband when he was mission
president, is a former stake Relief Society president, ward Young Women and
Primary president, and seminary and institute teacher. She was born in
Attleborough, Mass., to Richard Irving and Grace Madeline Scott Glass.
Limhi and Ruth Ontiveros
Limhi Ontiveros, 69, Winder 2nd Ward,
Salt Lake Winder Stake; called as president of the
Oaxaca Mexico Temple,
succeeding President Maurice D. Bowman. President Ontiveros' wife,
Ruth Veone Shelley Ontiveros, will serve as temple
matron. President Ontiveros, a ward mission leader, has served as president
of Colombia Missionary Training Center, Mexico Monterrey North Mission
president, bishop and high councilor. He is a retired accountant and
Missionary Department supervisor. He was born in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua,
Mexico, to Nefi and Delfina Lara Ontiveros.
Sister Ontiveros, served with her husband as he presided over the
Colombia Missionary Training Center and the Mexico Monterrey North Mission.
She has served as ward Relief Society president, Young Women president,
Primary president, and stake missionary. She was born in Mount Pleasant,
Utah, to Elmer J and Rega Clark Shelley.
H. Bryan and Lynn Anne Richards
H. Bryan Richards, 72, Holladay 26th
Ward, Salt Lake Holladay Stake; called as president of the Bountiful Utah
Temple, succeeding President L. Stephen Richards Jr. President Richards'
wife,
LynnAnne Taylor Richards, will serve as
temple matron. He is a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy and a
Missionary Department assistant executive director, and has served as an
Area President, Area President's counselor,
England Manchester Mission
president, regional representative, stake president, and stake president's
counselor. He is a retired benefits administrator for E-Systems. He was
born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Horace Beers and Carol Rosamond Bryan
Richards.
Sister Richards served with her husband when he was mission president
and as a ward Relief Society president, counselor in a stake and ward Young
Women presidency, stake Relief Society board member, and Relief Society
teacher. She was born in Provo, Utah, to Lynn Dixon and Celestia Johnson
Taylor.
Terry and Elenor Rollins
Terry Lee Rollins, 65, Greenfield Park
Ward, Montreal Quebec Mount Royal Stake; called as president of the
Montreal Quebec Temple, succeeding President Conrad J. Laplante. President
Rollins' wife,
Elenor Margaret Bryant
Rollins, will serve as temple matron. President Rollins is a sealer
in the
Montreal Quebec Temple, and has previously served as a counselor in
the
Montreal Quebec Temple presidency, a stake Family History Center
director, district president's counselor, bishop and ward financial clerk.
He is a retired physicist for the Department of National Defense. He was
born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Leroy and Bella Cavell Holland
Rollins.
Sister Rollins, a compassionate service leader in Relief Society, has
served as an assistant to the matron in the Montreal Quebec Temple, ward
Relief Society president, seminary teacher and temple ordinance worker. She
was born in Barrhead, Alberta, Canada, to George Edward and Esther Ruth
Hatley Bryant.
Valdemiro and Maria Skraba
Valdemiro Skraba, 58, Souzas Ward,
Campinas Brazil Flamboyant Stake; called as president of the Recife Brazil
Temple, succeeding President Nivaldo Bentim. President Skraba's wife,
Maria Joana Pires Machado Skraba, will serve as
temple matron. He is a counselor in the
Campinas Brazil Temple presidency,
a former counselor in the Curitiba Brazil Mission, stake president's
counselor and bishop. He is a retired business owner of Panif. Conf. Vovo
Geny. He was born in Rio Negro, Parana, Brazil, to Alexo and Anastacia
Baptista Skraba.
Sister Skraba, who serves with her husband as assistant to the matron in
the Campinas Brazil Temple, is a former stake Relief Society and Young
Women president, and ward Relief Society and Young Women president. She was
born in Lapa, Parana, Brazil, to Osorio Mendes and Benedita Pires de Lima
Machado.
