Oct. 1 — Music and Spoken Word featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will be held prior to the Sunday morning session of the General Conference.

Oct. 5-7 — BYU World of Dance featuring Ballroom Dance Company, Cougarettes, International Folk Dance Ensemble, Theatre Ballet, and Dancers' Company in the Conference Center Theater. Each evening at 7:30, with an additional Saturday matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for $8 per person will be available over the Internet, in person at the Conference Center ticket office (door 4), or by calling 801-570-0080 or toll-free 1-866-537-8457 (1-866-LDS-TIKS).

Ongoing — "Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration," a film showing events in the life of Joseph Smith from his early youth in Vermont to his martyrdom in Illinois at age 38, will be shown in the Legacy Theater in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Free admission (www.lds.org/events; 1-866-537-8457, toll-free in the U.S.; 570-0080, greater Salt Lake City area). There will be no standby lines.

Ongoing — "Legacy," a film showing the dramatic story of one girl's determination to overcome the hardships that early Latter-day Saints faced as they obeyed and followed the Lord, will be shown at the North Visitors Center, Theater #3, no reservation required. Daily, except on the weekend of General Conference. Showtimes from 10:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Free admission (801) 240-0978.
