Latter-day Saints "share an enormous responsibility" to do what the Lord wants them to do. This includes the gathering of scattered Israel, which is of unique importance in God's eternal plan.

Included in the Abrahamic Covenant is a promise that his posterity would be a chosen people, and that "nations and kindreds of the earth would be blessed through his seed." The tribes of Israel were descendants of Abraham but were scattered because of wickedness. God promised to gather scattered Israel.

"This promise of the gathering, woven all through the fabric of the scriptures, will be fulfilled just as surely as were the prophecies of the scattering of Israel."

As part of the dispensation of the fulness of times, there is the "long-awaited gathering of scattered Israel." The Book of Mormon is a "sign to the entire world that the Lord has commenced to gather Israel and fulfill covenants he made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."

Through temple and missionary work, church members are part of the gathering of Israel. All people can "come unto Christ" and "have equal claim upon the blessings of the Lord."

"Spiritual security will always depend on how one lives, not where one lives."
