We bought a new car late Saturday in another city an hour away. It was too late to have it prepped, but we drove it home anyway. The salesman promised to pick it up Monday, get it detailed at the dealership, and then return it to us Wednesday. We enjoyed driving it around. The sound system was great and we played our favorite CD. The salesman picked up the car as planned.

Wednesday morning I awoke with the thought that I should share the Book of Mormon with the salesman when he returned our car. But I was hesitant. Although we had shared stories about our children, and we each had similar family values, I thought it might seem intrusive. I dismissed the idea. It would take too long to get the Book of Mormon ready. I thought I should write a letter with my testimony and place bookmarks at my favorite scriptures.

At morning prayers, however, the idea hit me again: Share the Book of Mormon! This time I didn't hesitate. I promptly got up and fixed up a copy for the salesman. My wife thought we should include the Proclamation on the Family and an Articles of Faith card. Then I left for work.

When the salesman arrived with our car, he exclaimed, "What was that music in your car? I like gospel music, but that music was the best, the most inspirational music I have ever heard! I have to know what it is!"

My wife smiled. "It's the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's album 'Peace Like a River."' She had an extra copy, so she gave him one along with the Book of Mormon I had prepared, the Proclamation, and the Articles of Faith. He said he would read the book.

Seemingly random events led up to a perfect moment. I learned not to hesitate when the Spirit speaks to me to share the gospel.

I think sharing the Book of Mormon is really a compliment to the recipient. I am simply saying, "I would like you to enjoy the same blessings I enjoy."

I know I can't expect every person who gets the Book of Mormon to join the Church. I am simply inviting them to find out about the Church of Jesus Christ, and providing them with the opportunity. — George C. Robinson, Gadsden Ward, Birmingham Alabama Stake
