Youth, ages 12-18, along with their friends of other faiths, youth leaders and parents from Salt Lake and Davis counties are invited to a New Year's Eve Youth Fireside on Sunday, Dec. 31, in the Conference Center. The fireside will also be broadcast via satellite to Church units in the United States and Canada.
With its theme "Let Virtue Garnish Thy Thoughts Unceasingly," the 6 p.m. fireside will feature President Gordon B. Hinckley, along with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve and Young Women General President Susan W. Tanner. Conducting the meeting will be Elder Merrill J. Bateman of the Presidency of the Seventy. Performing during the fireside will be members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and a Seminary Honor Choir, with the Orchestra at Temple Square, directed by Craig Jessop and Mack Wilberg. Guest artists include pianists William Joseph and soloists Peter Breinholt and Ryan Tani.
Tickets, which are required for those attending in the Conference Center, will be available starting Nov. 14 at the Conference Center Ticket Office and on the Internet at www.lds.org/events.
